make a wish.....

we had a lovely evening, monday night....seth started planting the garden and I mowed the lawn....and ella has a fascination with dandelions. it really is quite sweet. i have received several bouquets from her already. after i finished mowing, i got my camera out and went to see the progress they were making. ella ran over to me with this huge bouquet for me, and i was able to explain to her about making a wish....well she fell in love with the idea and has been making wishes ever since!! it is such a joy to have those quiet moments where you can live life through your child's eyes. innocent, sweet and completely enamored with new things.

sometimes the weight of the world gets so heavy for me as an adult, and i long for the carefree childhood i so enjoyed. i just hope moments like these are enough to remind me not to take everything so seriously. and i hope my kids STOP growing up so fast, and take time to enjoy where they are!

and yes....ella is back into 'swim suit' mode! HELP!!!

I can't help but smile after reading this post.... it does take you back. Thank you for the reminder to slow down and enjoy the simple things...the fun things.

I love the make a wish time. There are several things that have happened to me lately to remind me to slow down, but i am so busy I can't remember what they are! Thank you for this post!

Oooohhh!! I love this, we've been trying to teach Gideon how to blow on the dandelions but he mostly just sucks in air and then knocks all the fluff off with his hands... You're so right about needing to slow down, I feel like so much is just rushing right by...

Ahhhh to be a kid. Love your picts. I had to laugh at your comment about her and swimsuits. Teach her to swim and you could have an olympic medalist on your hands with as much time as she spends in those things!
